About All The King's Men
A stellar cast brings Robert Penn Warren's classic novel to life. Willie Stark (Sean Penn) is an idealistic southern politician who believes that the end justifies the means and that dirty politics, in his judicious hands, can be used to the benefit of the common man he champions. Eventually, however, Stark is himself corrupted by the system. His fall from grace also takes down once idealistic, now bitter reporter Jack Burden (Jude Law) who unintentionally helped further Stark's corrupt political career. The story is based loosely on the life of Louisiana Governor Huey Long. The cast also features the considerable talents of Anthony Hopkins, James Gandolfini, Kate Winslet, Patricia Clarkson and Mark Ruffalo.
