About Dreamer
When a loving father determines to make his little girl’s dream come true, miracles can happen. Inspired by a true story, the film stars Kurt Russell as Ben Crane, a once great horseman who now spends his talents on the realization of other men’s fortunes. When Ben loses his job as a , his boss gives him a horse named Sonya as severance pay. Although Sonya was once a great racehorse, she suffered a career ending broken leg and is now considered worthless by her former owner. Ben’s daughter Cale (Dakota Fanning) is determined to see both of these once-greats, Sonya and her father, returned to their former glory. She unites man and horse in the seemingly impossible quest of winning the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Kris Kristofferson stars as Ben’s somewhat estranged father. Their relationship is mended by their unified mission to rehabilitate Sonya and turn Cale’s miracle into reality.
