They say trouble comes in threes.  Hot on the heels of a disastrous product debut at his Oregon shoe company that costs him his job, Drew Baylor (Orlando Bloom) gets dumped by his girlfriend (Jessica Biel) and learns of his father’s sudden death.  Feeling suicidal, but also obligated as the only son to tend to his father’s final wishes, Bloom travels home to Elizabethtown , Kentucky .  Along the way he meets pretty, witty flight attendant Claire (Kirsten Dunst) and no longer feels quite so suicidal.  The pair’s romance, along with his reconnection to his quirky extended family, helps Drew discover that perhaps his true purpose in life has nothing to do with successful shoe debuts after all.
