About Little Miss Sunshine

Little Miss Sunshine is a road trip film in which the “buddies” are actually members of a dysfunctional family who set out from Albuquerque in a decrepit VW bus so that their seven-year-old daughter Olive (Abigail Breslin) may take part in the “Little Miss Sunshine” children’s beauty pageant in Redondo Beach , California .  The sun-baked, unrelenting and sometimes other-worldly desert landscape of the trek provides a suitable backdrop as the motley clan, faced with heartbreak, broken dreams and a broken down bus, learns to trust and support one other along the way to the surreal experience that is the Little Miss Sunshine Pageant.  This offbeat film also stars Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Alan Arkin, Paul Dano, Justin Shilton and Alissa Anderegg.
