Pride and Prejudice Premieres on Pay Per View This Week  4/9/06

ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATED 'PRIDE AND PREJUDICE' HEADS UP A STELLAR FILM SLATE OF APRIL PREMIERES ON DEMAND AND PAY-PER-VIEW

'Prime' and 'Jarhead' Round out April Premieres

Englewood Cliffs, NJ - NBC Universal Cable brings the Academy Award nominated film, "Pride and Prejudice" to on demand (VOD) and pay-per-view (PPV) on April 13. Nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Actress (Keira Knightley), Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design and Best Original Score, this classic tale of love and misunderstanding that unfolds in class-conscious England near the end of the 18th century is a must see.

One of the greatest love stories of all time, "Pride & Prejudice" comes to the screen in a glorious new adaptation starring Knightley. When Elizabeth Bennett (Knightley) meets the handsome Mr. Darcy (Matthew MacFadyen), she believes he is the last man on earth she could ever marry. But as their lives become intertwined in an unexpected adventure, she finds herself captivated by the very person she swore to loathe for all eternity. Based on the beloved masterpiece by Jane Austen, it is the classic tale that sparkles with romance, wit and emotional force.

Also premiering April 13, Academy Award winner Meryl Streep and Academy Award nominee Uma Thurman star in "Prime." This sophisticated character comedy set in New York City is about a recently divorced 37-year-old career woman from Manhattan and what happens when a talented 23-year-old painter from Brooklyn falls in love with her. "Prime" looks at love from everyone's point of view - friends, relatives and even therapists - and follows all who come apart, and some who pull it together when two people fall in love.

The film "Jarhead" also comes to on demand (VOD) and pay-per-view (PPV) on April 6. Based on former Marine Anthony Swofford's best-selling 2003 book, "Jarhead" is the powerfully inspiring film about his pre-Desert Storm experiences in Saudi Arabia and about his experiences fighting in Kuwait. In conjunction with the film's premiere, NBC Universal Cable has produced the exclusive bonus feature, "Jarhead: Men of War". Viewers of the film can stay tuned after the credits to watch the 10-minute piece featuring real life stories from actual United States Marines talking about their own personal war experiences.

Check local listings with your cable or satellite provider to find out how to order all of these films in April and see the bonus feature "Jarhead: Men of War" on VOD and on PPV available in select cable and satellite systems.
