LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/25/05 -- The New Line Cinema
comedy "Wedding Crashers" has passed "Hitch" to become
the top-grossing comedy of the year with a cumulative box office gross of
$180 million since its July 15 debut.
The film, which continues to play well throughout the country, now
ranks as the 7th biggest grossing film of the year. It has also passed
such hits as "Pretty Woman" and "There's Something About
Mary" to become the second highest grossing R-rated comedy of all

The outrageous comedy "Wedding Crashers" stars Owen Wilson

wedding crashing "rules," the pair find their way into a
different wedding and different bridesmaids' heart every week. But when
they crash the social event of the season, one of them falls for the
engaged daughter (Rachel McAdams) of an influential and eccentric
politician (Christopher Walken) and decides to break the "rules"
in pursuit of her. This leads to a wild weekend at her family's palatial
estate where the ultimate "Crashers" quickly find themselves in
way over their heads. The film is directed by David Dobkin.
