Get ready to mush with a special presentation of "Snow Dogs." The charming comedy will air as the "ABC Saturday Movie of the Week," in HDTV with 5.1-Channel Surround Sound and Spanish audio, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 31 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD: 1/29/05)

When Miami dentist Ted Brooks (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) learns that his birth mother has passed away and that he's been named in her will, he travels to Alaska to claim his inheritance. Ted's dreams of wealth quickly melt when he receives his mother's pack of rowdy sled dogs along with her property. Nor are Diesel, Scooper, Nana, Yodel, Sniff, Mack, Duchess and Demon thrilled about getting a new owner. Ted decides to keep the dogs and race them in the local race, the Arctic Challenge, spiting a mountain man (played by James Coburn) who has his eye on this particular team of sled dogs. What follows is a hilarious romp, as Ted has to actually learn to run the dogs.

The screenplay was written by Jim Kouf ("National Treasure," "Taxi," "Rush Hour").
