"Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise" Is The Third Movie In the Jesse Stone Series All Starring Selleck

JESSE STONE: DEATH IN PARADISE, starring Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Tom Selleck ("Magnum P.I."), has started production in Halifax, Nova Scotia for broadcast on the CBS Television Network. Selleck reprises his role as Jesse Stone in the third movie of the Jesse Stone series. The series includes last year's "Stone Cold" and the upcoming "Jesse Stone: Night Passage" (working title). The movies are based on the best-selling books by Robert B. Parker.

In this drama, Jesse Stone (Selleck) has settled into life as the police chief of the small New England town of Paradise, Mass. when the body of a teenage girl is found floating in a local lake. Stone discovers that the once straight-A student had started down a path of self-destruction and was estranged from her parents who never reported her missing.

With little to go on, the investigation takes Stone to the city where he rubs the Boston mob the wrong way. As he tries to focus on finding out what happened to the girl, Stone must also deal with a case of domestic violence that ultimately turns deadly. But as the investigation into the teen's death unfolds and he learns more and more about the girl's unhappy past, Stone finds himself slowly becoming obsessed with her and is steadfastly determined to bring her killer to justice.

Viola Davis ("Century City"), Vito Rezza ("Death to Smoochy") and Kohl Sudduth ("The Banger Sisters") reprise their roles as the staff of inexperienced police officers Stone inherits with his new job and Stephen McHattie ("A History of Violence") reprises his role as Captain Healy. Orla Brady ("Empire") stars as Dr. Lilly Summers, the headmistress of the dead teen's prep school. Gary Basaraba ("Boomtown") joins the cast as Norman Shaw, a local writer who has ties to the dead teen's prep school and William Devane ("Knots Landing") stars as a doctor Stone consults about his drinking problem.

JESSE STONE: DEATH IN PARADISE is a production of TWS Productions II and Brandman Productions, Inc., in association with Sony Pictures Television. Emmy Award-nominated Michael Brandman ("Rosencrantz and Guildenstein Are Dead," "Sunday in the Park with George") and Tom Selleck are the executive producers; Emmy Award-nominated Steven Brandman ("The Heidi Chronicles") is the producer. Emmy Award-nominated Robert Harmon ("Ike: Countdown to D-Day," "Gotti") is directing the drama from a teleplay by J. T. Allen ("Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story") with revisions by Michael Brandman and Tom Selleck.
