10/25/05
Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) October 27, 2005 -- Full Sail Real World
Education would like to congratulate 2001 Film Graduate, Darren Lynn
Bousman, who is making his first mainstream directorial debut with
"Saw II," the highly anticipated sequel to the original film
success, "Saw," which was released late 2004.
"Saw" has been hailed as one of the most disquieting horror
films in decades. With great critical acclaim and mass appeal,
"Saw" drew in over $100 million dollars worldwide. Now after
recently completing post-production, Bousman and Lions Gate Films (LGF)
will release "Saw II" on October 28, 2005.
The initial shooting of "Saw II" was done in Toronto, Canada
and it is Bousman’s third film serving as director, however it is his
first major studio picture. Dave Franko, Program Director for the Full
Sail Film Department said, “For Darren to reach this level of success as
quickly as he did is something all Full Sail students can aspire to and
achieve. We couldn’t be happier to have Darren as a part of the Full
Sail alumni.”
Bousman has previous experience with directing independent features
such as "Butterfly Dreams" (2000) and "Identity Lost"
(2001). He has also directed a music video for nu-metal act Static-X and
worked on the crew of "National Lampoon’s Van Wilder."
"Saw II" will be Bousman’s first major screenplay credit,
which he shares with co-writer, Leigh Wannel, who wrote and created the
original "Saw" film.
“You can’t deny Darren’s talent when you see his work, but when a
company like LGF places their trust in him, it truly validates his
success,” Franko added.
