Writer-Director Brings His New Film to Kentucky and Tennessee
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Paramount Pictures will
celebrate the release of the new film from writer-director Cameron Crowe,
"Elizabethtown," in the region that inspired the film. On
Saturday, September 17, Paramount will host a premiere in Elizabethtown,
Kentucky, the town of 22,000 that lends its name to the title of the film.
After enjoying an 11:30 a.m. lunchtime barbeque, guests will attend the
screening with Crowe and Orlando Bloom, the star of the film, at
Elizabethtown's Movie Palace, 1231 Woodland Drive, at 1:00 p.m. That
evening, Crowe and Bloom will be in Louisville for a 7:00 p.m. premiere at
the Showcase Cinema de Lux, 9700 Preston Crossing Blvd., and after-party
at the Brown Hotel (which plays itself in the film), 335 West Broadway.
The
following day, Crowe and Bloom will take a road trip down the I-65
corridor -- which also plays a role in the film -- for a third premiere in
nearby Nashville, Tennessee. Co-hosted by Country Music Television, the
event begins at 4:00 p.m. with a live outdoor concert by Patty Griffin and
I Nine, who will each perform their song from the soundtrack. The concert,
which is free and open to the public, takes place prior to the private,
invitation- only, 5:00 p.m. screening at the Franklin Cinema, 419 Main St.
The after- party will take place at Liberty Hall, 230 Franklin Road.
Crowe
said, "We promised the people of Louisville and Elizabethtown that we
would return with the movie. These folks went out of their way to show us
kindness and warmth of spirit as we shot our film and I'm thrilled that
we're able to repay them with a special screening."
"Elizabethtown"
will be released in theaters nationwide on October 14th. A uniquely
crafted comedy set in the key of life, "Elizabethtown" is the
story of an unexpected romance that develops against the backdrop of a
hilariously elaborate memorial. It's a heartfelt journey that proves
amazing things can happen when you least expect them.
