About Planet of the Apes

Planet of the Apes began as a 1968 film in which an astronaut crew lands on a planet where intelligent apes are the dominant species.  Six Planet of the Apes sequels followed from 1971-1975.  In 2001 a new movie Planet of the Apes movie was released which was a “re-imagining” of the classic science-fiction novel by Pierre Boulle and the 1968 film.
