About Take the Lead

Internationally acclaimed ballroom dancer Pierre Dulane (Antonio Banderas) teaches his craft to the wealthy elite of New York .  His passion compels him to volunteer to teach dance to kids in the cities public schools.  But ballroom moves ain’t exactly hip hop, and the youngsters are not impressed.  So together Pierre and his students create a completely new style of dance merging the discipline of ballroom with the energy of hip hop.  Based on a true story, the film co-stars Alfre Woodard.
