About The Proposition
As
stark and unsentimental as the Australian Outback against which it is set, the
film opens with the titular “proposition.”
It is the frontier of the 1800’s, and Captain Stanley (Ray Winstone)
has just captured Charley (Guy Pearce) and Mikey (Richard Wilson), two of the
four Burns brothers who are charged with the exceptionally brutal rape and
murder of a family of settlers.
