Island 4/23/09 "Ka-Blam" Episode Recap
4/28/09
Abby is swimming in the pool of the Candlewick Inn when she is joined
by Beth, Sully and the groomsmen.
Henry sees Richard looking at Thomas and Katherine Wellington from afar
and asks him how he coped with becoming a Wellington. Richard says he
makes excellent money and his family are happy, but implies that he
himself is not happy.
Henry, Thomas and Richard are competing in a shooting contest while
Trish, Shea and Katherine look on. Shea scolds Madison for playing with
the flowers in the garden. During the game, Henry is passed a note by a
waiter and looks distressed. Towards the end of the game, Henry needs one
more shot to beat Thomas. Richard asks him if he has what it takes to
become a Wellington. Henry misses, although it is uncertain whether he did
this on purpose.
Doc Campbell and Sheriff Mills are examining the body of Kelly Seaver
when they notice her eyeballs have been stained an unusual red color.
There is also evidence she had sexual intercourse the previous day. The
sheriff asks the doctor to investigate thoroughly as he suspects there may
be foul play.
Back in the pool, Sully attempts to apologies to Cal and Chloe who are
sitting by the poolside. The Sheriff interrupts the party and asks to
speak with Abby.
In Henry and Trish's hotel room, Henry asks Trish to reassure him that
she would pick him over her father. Trish reassures him. When she leaves,
it is revealed what was written on the note passed to Henry: "Hunter
Jennings is at the Pines Motel".
Sheriff Mills informs Abby of Kelly's apparent suicide. Abby is shocked
as she had seen how happy Kelly was the previous day. Abby decides not to
tell him she saw J.D. Dunn with Kelly the day before.
Trish is trying on wedding dresses when Hunter unexpectedly joins her
in the dressing room. She remains hostile towards him despite his efforts
to reconcile with her.
Abby comes to J.D.'s room to inform him of Kelly's death. J.D. appears
to be apathetic towards this news. He comments on how Kelly's body was
covered in tattoos of her mother's death.
In the Wellington's room, it is revealed that Katherine Wellington and
Richard Allen are having an affair when they take part in a role-play.
Trish shows off her dress to Beth and Shea. Beth notices Hunter is
calling Trish on her cell and is shocked. Trish forbids Beth to tell Henry
and says she is taking care of the Hunter situation.
Richard and Cal are watching Chloe exercise and Richard asks Cal how he
managed to end up with Chloe. They notice Chloe and Sully go off together.
At the Pines Motel, Henry manages to fool the receptionist into giving
him a key to Hunter's room. He finds documents indicating Thomas
Wellington paid for Hunter's trip to Seattle. Hunter returns to the motel
and Henry hides in the closet.
Sully and Chloe are at the spa. Sully is being covered in a
honey/herbal mixture following Chloe's advice. Cal breaks into the spa
room and douses Sully in feathers which stick to him. It is revealed that
Chloe and Cal had planned this all along.
J.D. is walking in the woods when he is hit by a car.
Abby visits her father at the police station. She is upset as she
believes her father is not taking Kelly's death as seriously as she would
like.
The Sheriff visits Shane at his house and question's him about Kelly's
death. When he leaves, Shane opens the trunk of his car to reveal J.D.
Dunn bound and gagged. Shane apparently blames J.D. for Kelly's suicide.
Abby is talking to Nikki at the dock about Kelly's death. Nikki tells
Abby that Kelly and Shane's relationship was an abusive one.
Hunter comes to Thomas Wellington's room to bribe him for money or else
he will reveal all to Trish.
Trish is in her room when a note is slipped under her door. It reads:
"Let's make this work. Room 214. Hunter". She walks to room 214
but decides not to enter. It is then revealed that Henry is inside the
room and that it was a trap set by him. It is unknown whether he heard
Trish outside the door.
Abby goes to visit Shane at his house but finds J.D. in the shed with a
noose around his neck, supported only by a chair. Shane confronts her.
Abby tells him Kelly was murdered by John Wakefield to stall him. The
Sheriff interrupts after Abby delivers a monologue about how difficult
things must have been for Kelly. He tells Shane to drop the knife he is
wielding. The chair is accidentally knocked from underneath J.D.. Shane
and the Sheriff support him up while Abby cuts the rope.
Before his speech, Henry confronts Thomas about trying to spoil the
wedding.
Shane is arrested by the Sheriff. Abby tells her dad she doesn't think
Shane is behind the murder.
Back a the reception, Cal, Chloe, Henry and the groomsmen mock Sully
over the day's earlier events. Hunter appears, making his presence known
to Thomas.
Henry makes his speech, making a joke about how Thomas doesn't have a
choice; he must accept Henry as a family member whether he likes it or
not.
Thomas meets Hunter at the dock with his check and Hunter leaves the
island on a speedboat.
The Sheriff is going through Kelly's belongings at her house when he
notices an ornament with red eyes, similar to Kelly's corpse.
Back on the speedboat Hunter finds Uncle Marty's bag full of cash and a
gun. He laughs just as the speedboat breaks down in the middle of the sea.
When he lifts up the hood of the engine he shot by a shotgun (belonging to
the Candlewick Inn), which someone had set as a rigged trap.
Doc Campbell rings the Sheriff to inform him that the red substance in
Kelly's eyes was ink. The sheriff finds a newspaper article in Kelly's
house about how he killed John Wakefield. On the accompanying photo of the
Sheriff in the article, someone has colored his eyes in red. Written on
the article in the same red ink is a message saying "You found her,
now find me".
