A MYSTERIOUS CALLER OFFERS SAM THE OPPORTUNITY TO RETURN "HOME" -- BUT WILL HE TAKE IT? -- ON THE SERIES FINALE OF ABC'S "LIFE ON MARS" 

"Life is a Rock" - Sam Tyler's past, present and future all confront him when he receives a phone call with instructions on how he can return to 2008: All he needs to do is complete three tasks. But a dizzying set of circumstances inside and out of the 1-2-5 makes him think twice. When love, death, promise, hope, fear and mystery converge, will Sam decide to stay in 1973 or return to the future, on the series finale of "Life on Mars," WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1 (10:02-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"Life on Mars" stars Jason O'Mara as Detective Sam Tyler, Harvey Keitel as Lieutenant Gene Hunt, Michael Imperioli as Detective Ray Carling, Gretchen Mol as Annie Norris and Jonathan Murphy as Detective Chris Skelton.

"Life is a Rock" was written by Scott Rosenberg and directed by Michael Katleman.

"Life on Mars" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning. A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to airdate.

This episode of "Life on Mars" will be available on ABC.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online.
