Michael is depressed because it is the first Valentine's Day since he
broke up with Holly. He goes to give blood at the office building's blood
drive and has a nice conversation with a female donor sitting next to him.
When they both finish at the same time, Michael passes out as he didn't
eat much before giving blood. When he wakes up, the woman next to him had
already left, making Michael disappointed. Michael finds a glove that
supposedly belonged to the woman and takes it, hoping she'll come back for
it.
When Michael goes back into the office, he decides to gather all the
single employees into the conference room to discuss their own personal
romantic dilemmas. Angela discusses her story regarding a breakup with two
different men dueling over her, which everyone associates with Dwight and
Andy, but she claims it was about another situation with two different
people named "John Mark" and "John David". It is
revealed that Andy is absent from the office because he is on his
honeymoon trips which he put non-refundable deposits down for. After
hearing everyone's stories, Michael decides to hold a party for the single
employees and any single blood donor attending the blood drive as a way
for singles to connect, while Michael hopes the woman who gave blood next
to him comes back for her glove.
When Jim and Pam are threatened with banishment by Michael after they
constantly gaze happily on each other, Phyllis invites them to have lunch
with her and Bob Vance. Their meal is going great, but Phyllis and Bob
disappear for a while after their food arrives. Jim and Pam check the
bathrooms to see where they are and they hear Phyllis and Bob having sex
in the handicapped bathroom. Phyllis and Bob finally come back to their
table and Jim and Pam look on in disgust as Phyllis and Bob seductively
put food in each others' mouths.
Back at the office, a few outsiders attend Michael's party. One of the
attendees strikes up a conversation with Dwight, who tries to gain her as
a new client before being rejected as she already has a paper supplier.
Another attendee strikes up a conversation with Kevin, who is still
somewhat depressed over his breakup with his fiancé Stacy and walks away
when he admits it was she who broke it off. Kevin goes to apologize to the
attendee, admitting his nervousness, and the attendee understands and
gives him her email. Michael is disappointed that the woman who lost her
glove doesn't show up. At the end of the day, the only people left in the
party are the employees. Michael tells them they can leave early, but they
decide to stay anyways and later encourage Michael to leave with them.
At the end of the episode, a flashback of the blood drive occurs.
Stanley attempts to get a chocolate chip cookie from a nurse at the drive,
claiming that he gave blood. The nurse then realizes he has feigned giving
blood because he does not have a band-aid. Embarrassed, Stanley leaves,
informing Philis that the nurse caught him. There is then a shot of Creed
stealing a bag of blood while looking suspicious.
