About United 93
This film seeks to recreate, with available knowledge, the events that took place on September 11, 2001 aboard United flight 93 and to dignify the memory of the passengers and crew. Acclaimed filmmaker Paul Greengrass wrote and directed this real-time drama that recounts the experiences of those on board, their families and the flight controllers who watched in horrified disbelief as Flight 93 became the fourth hijacked plane on that terrible day. The film attempts to comprehend the unutterable fear and heroic choices of the passengers, strangers who in just 90 minutes transformed into an alliance united against a common enemy in an unimaginable situation. Greengrass assembled a cast of unknowns, each of whom carefully studied a profile of their flight 93 counterpart. The film features David Alan Basche (as Todd Beamer), Richard Bekins, Opal Alladin, Starla Benford, Lorna Dallas, Susan Blommaert, Trish Gates, Christian Clemenson, Kate Jennings Grant, Liza Colon-Zayas, Denny Dillon, Craig Woythaler, Omar Berdouni, Khalid Abdalla, and Lewis Alsamari.
