About X-Men: The Last Stand

The X-Men return in this third installment of the movie trilogy.  Although the mutants have served as a benevolent and protective force for humankind, one of them has become a danger to herself and others.  Possessed of the cosmic power of the Dark Phoenix, Jean Grey is resurrected and now poses a threat to the entire planet.  To neutralize the menace, a “cure” is developed to treat, and ultimately to eliminate, all genetic mutation.  The battle lines are clearly drawn: mutant leader Xavier advocates tolerance; Xavier’s former ally Magneto believes in survival of the fittest, and realigns himself with the wicked Brotherhood.  The split has the potential to trigger the most destructive world war in history.  The film stars Famke Janssen as Jean Grey/Phoenix; James Marsden as Scott Summers/Cyclops; Rebecca Romijn as Mystique; Alan Cumming as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler; Daniel Cudmore as Colossus; Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake/Iceman; Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier; Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast; Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat; Halle Berry as Ororo Munroe/Storm; Olivia Williams as Dr. Moira MacTaggart; Ian McKellen as Eric Lensherr/Magneto; Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ben Foster, Aaron Stanford and Shohreh Aghdashloo.
